Stern is co-host with iconic KC chef Jasper Mirabile, Jr. on his popular weekly food show, “LIVE! From Jasper’s Kitchen” on KCMO Talk Radio 710/103.7 FM. The high-energy duo interviews local, regional and national chefs, restaurateurs, authors and food personalities, and outside the radio studio raise money for organizations like Great Plains SPCA and Kansas City Care Clinic through Fuzzy Fotos. Mirabile and Stern serve as celebrity judges in Kansas City events like the KC Kosher Barbecue Festival, Lenexa Spinach Festival and the Un-Chef Cook-Off Competition.

In September 2012, Stern’s feature on KC barbecue, “‘Cue City,” earned acclaim, being called the “best piece of writing on KC barbecue in a long while.” Stern’s story on four high-profile Kansas culinary professionals, “Chefs a la Carte,” won a coveted International Regional Magazine Association Award in October 2012.
Stern is a community volunteer and philanthropist. She is a board member of Gilda’s Club Kansas City and in 2013 chaired “Giggle With Gilda” at The Midland with Jason Sudeikis and The Second City, a sellout fundraiser for the charity. She is chair of Giggle With Gilda 2014. Sterns is program chair for the Kansas City chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The invitation-only membership, composed of 28 individual chapters across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, is highly diversified and reflects the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.
